Antique Whitby Jet cameo- “lady in jet beads”

A stunning example of Victorian stone engraving, this Whitby Jet mourning brooch features a elegant lady wearing a string of jet beads. The detail in the hair is exquisite. On the reverse is a locket for a photo (which is missing). The catch in a base metal is functioning and there is a ring to covert to a pendant if desired. It measures 55x45mm.
